Hernán Jiménez is an actor, filmmaker and comedian. He has written and directed a documentary and 5 shorts, for which he has won 10 awards in the Muestra de Cine in Costa Rica. He has also participated in various international festivals. His first feature, A ojos cerrados, was selected in 2009 in the Latin American Works in Progress at the Festival de Cine in Berlin – Berlinále. As an actor, he has performed in Montreal, Toronto and San Francisco, with great commercial and critical success for his monologue Hablando se entiende la gente and later Al derecho y al revés, a stand-up comedy show which continues in production and is still presented today. Hernán studied acting at the American academy of Dramatic Arts in New York as well as at the National Theater School of Canada, in Montreal.
