Live puppet shows (in Spanish)
In the Wealthy Theatre Micro-cinema. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Since 2010, students studying Spanish at Grand Valley State University, under the direction of Prof. Jason Yancey, have produced original puppet shows, creating everything from the story and script to the puppets and props, and then taken their plays to elementary school audiences throughout the Grand Rapids area. This lively collaboration offers students an intense language learning experience unlike any other, where academic skills have a direct impact in the real world. More than just a community oriented theatre project, it is a celebration of Spanish language and cultures serving actors and audiences alike.
